It takes a lot of work (and workers) to make the Emerald City shine. Here in downtown, Seattle’s densest, most populous neighborhood, DSA/MID teams scrub sidewalks, welcome visitors and activate parks and public spaces — all to ensure a great experience for those who work, live in or visit the center city.

Nearly 100,000 people now call downtown home, and more employees and visitors are returning every day. Caring for the heart of Seattle is our mission. That’s why we’re proud to join more than 80 other local businesses, nonprofits and organizations stepping up to join Mayor Bruce Harrell’s One Seattle Day of Service on Saturday, May 21. The beautification efforts dovetail with DSA’s own recovery and place-management efforts.

The Day of Service is an invitation to all Seattleites to help make their city sparkle, with volunteer opportunities like cleaning and beautification, restoration and helping neighbors in need. In good news for downtown, registration to pitch in on center city projects filled up fast. We’re excited to welcome dozens of volunteers who will work alongside our downtown ambassadors cleaning, painting and planting on that day.
