Video: The necessary quiet of downtown Seattle
Posted on
We took a trip above, through and around downtown Seattle to observe the empty streets, vacant sidewalks, boarded up businesses … and signs of hope. A vibrant urban core covering just under five square miles, home to more than 330,000 jobs and 88,000 residents is at a standstill. There is an eerie quiet that you sense from the sky and you feel on the ground, but it’s a necessary quiet. Seattleites are doing what they can to help flatten the curve of the COVID-19 outbreak. That’s how we’ll get back to enjoying the downtown we love, the parks and public spaces. It’s also how we help our healthcare workers and first responders battling the virus. There will be a comeback, and we’ll be ready for it in downtown Seattle. Until that time, stay well, stay healthy, stay positive. We’ve got this, Seattle.
