Locations

As stewards of downtown, we’re focused on delivering a great urban experience. Clean, safe and welcoming parks and public spaces invite us outside and provide the perfect backdrop for music, food trucks, community events, or even a respite from work or shopping. In 2015, DSA took over the management, staffing and programming of Westlake Park and Occidental Square through an agreement with the city of Seattle. In 2023, that agreement was renewed and expanded to include Bell Street Park and Pioneer Park. In all, DSA – with funding from Metropolitan Improvement District ratepayers – staffs and activates six parks and public spaces in the heart of downtown.

Westlake Park

Westlake Park is a bustling urban gathering place in the heart of the city that attracts workers, shoppers, visitors and locals throughout every season. DSA ensures the park is active and welcoming with games, music, food, events and kids activities. DSA/MID ambassadors and private security are in and around the park each day.

401 Pine St.

Occidental Square

Shaded by the leafy London Plane trees of Seattle’s historic Pioneer Square District and paved with classic red brick, downtown’s Occidental Square was established in 1971. DSA provides private security and staffing, daily amenities, art installations, music, activities and more.

117 S. Washington St.

McGraw Square

Sitting on the edge of Belltown at the intersection of three busy streets and a streetcar station, this small park hosts a steady stream of visitors, lunchtime customers and regular public art installations. DSA has stewarded this space since 2010.

531 Stewart St.

Pioneer Park

Pioneer Park captures Seattle’s early history with turn-of-the-century street lamps, a Tlingit totem pole, Chief Seattle’s bust and a cast-iron and glass pergola built in 1909. DSA enhances the space with live music, beautification, private security and hospitality services.

100 Yesler Way

Bell Street Park

Bell Street Park stretches along four city blocks in downtown’s Belltown neighborhood. Extra-wide sidewalks host flowers, chairs, landscaping and activities, including live music, food trucks, games and more. DSA provides private security and staffing for Bell Street Park.

Urban Village at 2+U

At the corner of Second Avenue and University streets sits The Urban Village at 2+U. This privately owned public space resides below a soaring, 85-foot tower canopy and hosts 1,100 square feet of venue space. DSA programs this much-needed public space with music, art and interactive events.
