Thermodynamic Flower

Created specifically for Occidental Square, “Thermodynamic Flower” by Naomi Fisher provided commentary on the tensions between nature and capitalist dynamics. Solar thermal glass tubes transferred heat to a flower shape that turned the sculpture from red to yellow, illustrating the sun’s psychological and emotional effects, as well as the transformation of solar radiation into heat via green technology.

This piece was on display in Occidental Square from September to November 2021.
