This week’s 20th annual State of Downtown, DSA’s signature event, was a big success. More than 1,000 DSA members and civic leaders came together to learn more about the progress being made in revitalizing the center city, including positive trends in worker foot traffic, residential development, tourism and local visitation.

DSA President & CEO Jon Scholes discussed the importance of downtown as the region’s center for commerce, culture and connection. He highlighted the positive momentum downtown with the new waterfront redevelopment, the opening of 88 new street-level businesses in 2024 and a decline in street disorder and violent crime.

Guests also heard from keynote speaker Marc Dunkelman, Seattle Mayor Bruce Harrell and special guest Washington Gov. Bob Ferguson.

If you missed the event, you can watch the speeches on DSA’s YouTube channel and get more information on our annual Economic Report.
