Genre: R&B, Hip-hop Location: Occidental Square / 117 S. Washington St. Berhana is intentional about not only his craft, but his identity. The singer-songwriter is based in LA but was born near Atlanta, raised in a community centered on his Ethiopian roots. Berhana’s dreamy signature sound merges East African instrumentalisation and Ethio-jazz melodies with hip hop, R&B, jazz and funk elements. The result? A uniquely holistic sound that melds his experience being raised as a child of the African diaspora with the authenticity of his life today.
