Tree Lighting Celebration

Holiday tree and star in downtown Seattle

Unwrap the holiday season at our annual Tree Lighting Celebration on Friday, Nov. 24, 2023 at Westlake Park! We’ll kick off the festivities at 3:30 p.m. with local live music, costumed characters and giveaways. It all leads up to the main event at 5 p.m.: lighting the 45-foot holiday tree, followed immediately by a spectacular fireworks show!

Pre-show: 3:30-5 p.m.
Enjoy the sounds of the season as we count down to the lighting of the tree with live, local music from Holiday Harmony POP, the Pike Street Drummer and more. Emceed by Shellie Hart from WARM 106.9, this popular pre-show event at Westlake Park is a great way to get in the spirit and save your spot for the big event.

Tree Lighting Celebration: 5-6:30 p.m.
Join the tree-lighting countdown with event emcees Ursula Reutin and Micki Gamez of KIRO Newsradio. Starting at 5 p.m., they’ll lead the crowd in ringing in the season as we light the downtown tree, flip on the iconic Macy’s Star and launch a spectacular fireworks show. Then, we’ll keep the holiday celebration going with uplifting performances from the African American Cultural Ensemble and Motown vocal trio The Jewel Tones.
