Downtown Summer Sounds, our free outdoor concert series, wraps up its 46th year with an unforgettable final show by Hollow Coves on Aug. 28.

This summer, DSS featured fewer concerts than in years past, but the 2025 lineup brought some of the biggest names we’ve ever hosted — artists with more than 1.6 million combined Instagram followers and over 15 million monthly Spotify listeners.

That star power translated into strong crowds across downtown. The series opened in spectacular fashion on July 11 with Raveena at Westlake Park, drawing nearly 6,000 people and prompting a closure of Pine Street — from Fifth to Fourth avenues — to accommodate the audience. Other standout performances included Kishi Bashi (3,000 fans at Westlake Park), Dengue Fever (600 at Occidental Square) and 54 Ultra (1,200 at Railroad Way North).

So far, total attendance has reached more than 16,000, with an average of nearly 900 fans per show. Notably, Westlake Park saw its third straight year of growth, averaging more than 2,300 attendees per concert in 2025, more than double the 2023 average. Occidental Square also posted record gains, averaging 500 per show.

“Downtown Summer Sounds is all about creating moments that bring people together in the heart of the city,” DSA Vice President of Public Realm & Ambassador Operations Jennifer Casillas said. “This year’s lineup showed the power of music to draw thousands downtown, spark joy in our public spaces and remind us why this is such a special place.”

With a mix of nationally and internationally recognized talent and local favorites, DSS once again reinforced the vibrancy of the city’s core and brought people together in the center city. Thank you to all who joined us this summer. We’ll see you next year for season 47!
