Downtown Summer Sounds off to a sizzling start

Posted on

Thousands of people have already turned out to enjoy the first five shows in our Downtown Summer Sounds free outdoor concert series, and the good vibes are just getting started.

There are 14 more performances featuring local, national and international artists, including two standout shows this week: Kishi Bashi brings his eclectic energy to Westlake Park at 4 p.m. on July 25, and indie pop duo The Softies perform at Bell Street Park at 4 p.m. on July 26.

Presented by Amazon, in partnership with KEXP, Lime and Seattle Parks & Recreation — and made possible through the generous support of downtown ratepayers — DSS concerts run through Aug. 28 in parks and public spaces throughout downtown.

Singer/songwriter Raveena kicked the series off with a soulful set at Westlake Park on July 11 with upward of 1,000 fans in attendance.

“This series really captures the spirit of summer in Seattle, bringing music and energy to the heart of downtown,” DSA Vice President of Public Realm & Ambassador Operations Jennifer Casillas said. “We’re thrilled to see so many people coming out to enjoy the music and experience the vibrancy of downtown.”
