REVITALIZE DOWNTOWN SEATTLE

Pedestrian Zones

How great would it be if some streets were for people, not cars?

The idea here is to turn a few downtown streets into havens for walkers and bicyclists. With carless streets, people can safely enjoy a stroll, restaurants could do outdoor dining more creatively, and street musicians would have a quieter place to be heard. It can all be done in a way that doesn’t create traffic jams or make it hard for people to reach stores and businesses.
