Downtown Seattle Association
Our Mission: To champion a healthy, vibrant, urban core
About DSA The Downtown Seattle Association (DSA) is the member-based non-profit organization focused exclusively on making Downtown Seattle a great place to live, work, shop and play through advocacy, business development and marketing.
Since it was established in 1958, the DSA’s approximately 450 member organizations advocate on behalf of business, non-profit, arts and residential interests throughout Downtown Seattle.
As part of its commitment to Downtown, the DSA routinely collaborates with others in our community, and have founded organizations which provide special focus to issues requiring additional resources:
Metropolitan Improvement District
Founded by DSA in 1999, the Metropolitan Improvement District (MID) is a not-for-profit service organization that provides maintenance, hospitality and safety services, as well as destination marketing, business development and market research for 225-square blocks in Downtown Seattle.
Commute Seattle
Commute Seattle is an initiative of the Downtown Transportation Alliance (Downtown Seattle Association, King County Metro and the City of Seattle Department of Transportation), is a partnership formed to increase access to, through and from Downtown.
Housing Resources Group
Housing Resources Group was established by DSA in 1980 to build housing for low-income citizens. Its efforts have helped make Downtown accessible and affordable to all, and have contributed to the diversity and growth in the number of residents who make their homes Downtown.
